No Halter/ No Bridle November

We’ve all heard of No Stirrup November, right?!

Well, the Southwest Liberty Horse Club was inspired by this concept and is excited to host our first annual No Halter/ No Bridle November—an online Liberty Challenge.

What?

No Halter/ No Bridle November

An online Liberty Challenge inspired by No Stirrups November!

The goal of this Liberty Challenge is to encourage each of us to continue reaching our Liberty and Bridleless goals even as we move into the colder months. We want you to improve the connection your horse has with you, to improve your horsemanship, and gain confidence in your Liberty and/or Bridleless work with your horse.

When?

Between November 1- December 5, document a minimum of 11 sessions with your horse; a portion of each of those rides and/or Liberty sessions with your horse must be Bridleless or without a halter.

Why 11?

Because November is the 11th month of the year.

Who?

This is open to all breeds, all disciplines, club members, non-club members, ILHA members, and non-ILHA members. Non-USA residents may enter, there may just be an additional shipping fee with entry.

How?

Document and journal each Liberty session and/or each Bridleless ride. The journaling and documentation can be as simple as a note on your phone with the date of your ride and/or Liberty session.

Turn in your documentation and journaling to info@southwestlibertyhorse.com between December 1-5, 2023. We will give away extra prizes for the funniest journaling.

You CAN start out with only a short portion of the session without your halter or your bridle, and begin at just a walk and/or in a small space like a round pen.

You can JUST enter the Bridleless portion.

JUST the Liberty portion.

Or you CAN dual enter into both.

If you dual enter, you need to document 11 Liberty sessions and 11 Bridleless sessions.

You CAN use the same horse if you are dual entering.

Keep a watch on the Southwest Liberty Horse Club’s Facebook page to respond to posts regarding No Halter/ No Bridle November for a chance to win prizes from our club sponsors.

Hold Harmless

Please use your brain, if your horse is fresh, not broke, or no suited for work, etc.; please do not work with that horse, take off your halter or your bridle, etc. until that horse is ready. Participants enter at their own risk and understand the potential risks in engaging in farm animal and equine activities. By registering for the challenge, each participant who engages in a farm animal/equine activity assumes the risks of doing so and legal responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to person(s) or property resulting from the risk of farm animal/equine activities. By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Southwest Liberty Horse Club from any and all liability.
